We Need YOUR Help!
Every year, hundreds of pet birds are bred in captivity and many of those parrots may one day be in need of our organization due to their owner's ill health, passing away, change in lifestyle, neglect, abuse, etc. In order to ensure that we can help parrots we need your support.
Caring for the parrots, providing support and most involves more than many can begin to realize.
Approximately 10-15 parrots a month are in need of our services. As their popularity increases as “pets” the number will inevitably increase as well. Although we do have our permanent residents we also have parrots here that are disabled and that we will be posting information about soon. We also get unexpected arrivals on our doorstep. This year we have seen many budgies who were just left on our doorstep in need of our care.
Your generous support provides the funds for medicine, vitamins, fruit, vegetables, special equipment for disabled parrots, maintenance, cages, heating, lighting, education materials, repair costs, gas allowance, and more!
If you wish to help support Second Flight please send cheques payable to Amherst Vet Hospital or Bracebridge Animal Hospital to the addresses below. PLEASE be sure to write on the cheque that it is a donation to Second Flight and notify us that you have sent the cheque so that we can confirm and send out a Charitable Receipt.

We have high overhead in certain areas and if you wish to send a gift certificate to support our sanctuary, you can email for our address and send certificates from places like Home Depot, gas stations, Walmart, grocery stores and many others. Buying items from our supporters also will indirectly support us,
Become a member Payments are accepted through Paypal where you can make payments using Visa. Mastercard, or your chequing account. If you do not have a paypal account sign up for one for free!. If you prefer to make payment by cheque please contact us.
When becoming a member you will have access to our members only website where you will receive up to date information, receive our quarterly newsletter and attend events that are not open to the general public.

Pennies for Parrots
Pennies for Parrots is one of our ongoing fund raisers that take place throughout the year in various forms.
At events people are able to donate money to this fund and soon at various stores province wide.
We also will be designating one day in the year as “Pennies for Parrots” day. Those wishing to take part will be sent an information package and asked to find sponsors to donate an amount of their choice. Then on the designated day people in your area will get together to walk through your area showing your support for such a worth while cause. The individual to raise the most money receives a lifetime membership, SF T-shirt and Greeting cards.
We are looking for coordinators for this event for areas throughout all of Ontario. If you are interested please contact us.
